DOES YOUR AUTHOR PROGRAM EXIST IN OTHER CITIES?
Our pilot program began in Metro-Detroit area. We plan to expand nation-wide. Every donation helps us grow.
DO YOU TUTOR IN READING?
LFK does not tutor students in reading. Our main focus is to create presentation opportunities between authors, illustrators, and other art-minded individuals to inspire curiosity in all students. A child is more apt to want to read if they understand what can come from this accomplishment.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR PRESENTERS?
We choose nationally acclaimed authors, illustrators, and artists who share a diverse message and passion for writing and the arts with scholars nationwide.
CAN I DETERMINE WHO COMES TO MY SCHOOL?
Sure! We work with each school administration to determine which presenter will be a good fit.
IS THERE A COST TO HAVE A PRESENTER COME TO MY SCHOOL?
The schools selected for Authors:IN-Detroit are gifted by LFK. In addition, LFK offers a variety of presentation opportunities. For more information contact us directly.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A PRESENTATION?
Each artist provides a curriculum-aligned presentation, interactive discussions, and a teacher activity/lesson plan. LFK gifts an autographed book to each student and is an example of we establish reading is connected to the arts.
